fuur-elise asked: Hi, I filled out that jealousy survey and I thought it was really interesting. will we ever get to see what results you got? :)
Awwwwww well, thank you! This survey I created was to help brainstorm ideas for one of the studies I am a research assistant for at my college. The study assess the relationship of attachment styles and jealousy- and that’s all I can really say about it, haha. :P
My mini survey was to just collect ideas for how we can fix that study because when we distributed the study first time, we thought it was a fail because results didn’t show anything significant. So we changed it; but again, we didn’t get significant enough results. Though all in all, the study didn’t end up being as big of a fail as we thought and I believe the person I’m an RA for is writing up a journal article about it now- which is great!
BUT! I’ll share the results for my mini survey! Apparently, the average jealous rating for was about a 5 (on a scale from 1 to 10; 1 being not so jealous and 10 being super-jealous). MOST people said that they were jealous in the beginning of the relationship, meaning like when the people in the relationship haven’t formed a strong bond yet, as opposed to being in a relationship for a longer while. Lastly, whenever people got jealous, it was usually when the significant other was around his/her close/best friend of the gender of that person’s SO. For example, my boyfriend would be jealous of my closest male friend. Other people said that if his/her SO was just generally around people who were flirting with him/her…stuff like that.
Great stuff!
